Hiking in Transylvania: Bükkhavas, Barackos - Peak

We start our journey from the Boglarka guest house to the north. The first 2.5km asphalt road goes up to the Catholic Church of Barackos. Here we turn left, and we will walk between wooden houses until the Szucs Emre creek (3.5km). The area is really wild and romantic. Both side pine forest, wooden houses, streams, wild strawberry, blueberry... The road climbs 3.3km long, but only the last part is steep. At the height of 1240m we reach an old wooden house (so called Kaliba) where we can get to know the traditional cheese production. After a quarter of hour we reach the summit of 1314m. Here we can take a seat and enjoy the beautiful scenery in peace. Left we find Barackos top, in the middle Terkö - Mountain, right Békás - mountain and pass. The road goes back through the Barackos summit along the ridge, mostly horisontal. Right we see the beautiful Naskalat Mountain, left the Muhos Creek. The last short stretch is a steep deep where we get back to the Catholic Church of Barackos after about 1km.

Distance: 18.9 km // climb: 608m // Max.slope: 20.6%, -38.0%
Time: 8 Std // Lowest Point: 849m // Highest point: 1314m
