Cycle in Transylvania: Castle of Rákóczi, 1000 years old border, Forfeits Chapel
We start our bike tour of Boglarka Guest House (860m) to the south. After ca.5.1km we reach the railroad crossing where we need to turn left. The asphalt road slopes slowly. On the left we find the Bálványos brook, on the right the Hegyeshavas peak.
After the station of Bükk (Faget), we find on the right side of the river Tatros the Rákóczi Castle and the thousand-years old border. This transition was for 1000 years the border between Hungary (austrian monarchy) and Romania. In the guard house works today a museum. Across the street we find the old Kontumaz Chapel with a memorial to the fallen german and hungarian soldiers of the world War II.
As a return, we use the same asphalt road, with only a slight rise.
